Overview
This is the benchmark Gosaikunda itinerary and the shape most agencies default to. From Dhunche (1,960 m) the trail climbs steeply, mostly on part-cemented stairs, past the Mini Gosaikunda waterfall to the first overnight at Deurali, then continues through Dhimsa to Chandanbari (Sing Gompa, 3,330 m) — a monastery and cheese-factory village that doubles as the trip's natural acclimatisation stop and the last reliable place to charge devices. A gentler forested stretch through Cholangpati leads to Lauribinayak (3,900 m), nicknamed the 'Ultimate View Point,' where an early departure the next morning catches sunrise at Buddha Mandir before the final approach past Saraswati and Bhairav Kunda to Gosaikunda itself (4,380 m). The descent retraces the full route to Dhunche in a single demanding 7-to-8-hour day. With only one dedicated acclimatisation stop and a compressed return, this route suits reasonably fit trekkers who want the complete Gosaikunda pilgrimage experience without committing to a longer itinerary — it is not the gentlest option in this set (see Strategy 3 for that), but it is the most time-efficient complete version of the trek.
