Overview
This is the benchmark Mardi Himal itinerary and the shape most agencies default to. From Kande (1,770 m) the trail climbs gradually through village lanes and rhododendron forest to the first night at Pitam Deurali (2,100-2,150 m), then continues through Forest Camp (2,600 m) to Low Camp (2,970-3,050 m) — the first point with a clear view of Machhapuchhre, and a deliberate acclimatisation stop before the steeper push above the treeline. A third night at High Camp (3,550-3,580 m), the busiest lodge point on the entire route, sets up the trip's central day: a predawn departure past the Lower and Upper Viewpoints to Mardi Himal Base Camp itself (4,500 m) — higher than Annapurna Base Camp — for a genuine 360-degree panorama of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli, before retracing the steep descent back to High Camp for lunch and continuing down toward Low Camp or Badal Danda. The final day descends through forest and terraced farmland to Siding, where a shared jeep completes the return to Pokhara. With gradual, three-stop acclimatisation and a single demanding summit day, this route suits reasonably fit beginners as readily as experienced trekkers looking for an efficient, complete version of the trek.
