Overview
Not everyone has five days, and not everyone wants — or is able to manage — roughly 3,000 stone steps in a single afternoon. This itinerary exists for exactly that reason: a jeep covers the drive from Pokhara through Nayapul directly to Ulleri, cutting out the staircase entirely while still delivering the same Poon Hill sunrise everyone else on the mountain is there for. From Ulleri, a shorter climb through Banthanti and Nangethanti reaches Ghorepani the same afternoon, leaving the following pre-dawn hike to Poon Hill and a descent back to Ulleri (or, for parties short on time, straight to a waiting jeep) to close out the trip. This is explicitly the version several operators market to families with children, older travellers, or anyone who wants the sunrise without the physical toll of the full staircase — a genuinely comfortable, low-risk introduction to trekking in Nepal, not a lesser version of the 'real' trek.
Highlights
- The full Poon Hill sunrise experience in the shortest realistic time commitment
- A genuinely family- and beginner-friendly version of Nepal's most popular short trek
- Skips the demanding Ulleri staircase entirely via a direct jeep transfer
- Still touches Ghorepani's village life and rhododendron forest despite the compressed schedule
