Overview
This is the itinerary to recommend to anyone with an extra day or two who doesn't want the trip to end the moment the sunrise is over. The first three days follow exactly the same ground as the Classic Loop — the Ulleri staircase, Ghorepani, and the Poon Hill panorama — and Day 4 reaches Ghandruk the same way. From there, though, this itinerary breaks from the standard return: rather than descending straight back toward Nayapul, it continues via Chhomrong — a genuinely different village character, with cafes and a noticeably wider food menu than anything encountered so far — down to Jhinu Danda, where a set of natural hot springs beside the Modi Khola provide the trip's actual closing highlight rather than just another teahouse dinner. The final day descends to Ghandruk Phedi for the drive back to Pokhara. For trekkers who find themselves wanting more once they've reached Ghandruk, Chhomrong is also the point where this route quietly joins the much larger Annapurna Base Camp trail network documented elsewhere in this series — worth knowing if the six days here turn out to be the beginning of a longer trip rather than the whole of it.
Highlights
- Everything in the Classic Loop, plus the natural hot springs at Jhinu Danda as a genuine finale
- A direct link into the Annapurna Base Camp trail network via Chhomrong for anyone wanting to extend further
- The best-paced version of this trek for anyone treating it as a proper week away rather than a quick add-on
