Overview
This itinerary combines the lower portion of the Langtang Valley Trek with a dedicated climb to the sacred Gosaikunda Lake (4,380 m), returning via a different route through the Laurebina La Pass to Dhunche — a genuine loop rather than a retrace. From Syabrubesi, the trail follows the same first two days as the Classic route as far as the upper reaches of the valley, but at Thulo Syabru the trail branches northwest rather than continuing up the main Langtang corridor. A steep climb through rhododendron and hemlock forest reaches Sing Gompa (Chandanbari, 3,330 m), the last forested overnight before the trail breaks into open alpine terrain. The climb to Gosaikunda is the itinerary's defining day, reaching the sacred lake at 4,380 m, surrounded by a cluster of smaller companion lakes. A second high-altitude day crosses the Laurebina La Pass (4,610 m) before descending through the Ghopte Valley to Dhunche, where a road transfer returns to Kathmandu.
